Desktop 2.0 Working Group

After two successful strategy forums held in Miami and London, the Open AXIS Group recognizes the need for a working group in order to modernize travel agency desktop platforms.

Open AXIS members have expressed concern over the inability of the cryptic “green screen” platforms to meet the current display and selling requirements of both the airlines and the travel agencies. The goal of the Desktop 2.0 Working Group is to evaluate the requirements of all participants, define airline product display standards, and make recommendations to developers of GUIs. Specifically, the working group will look at:

• Traveler Authentication
• Merchandising
• PNR Management
• Up- and Cross-Selling
• Providing Product Comparison
• Content Display

The Desktop 2.0 Working Group will consist of Open AXIS Member Airlines and developer Allied Members, as well as invited prospective members from the travel agency, TMC, OTA and Corporate Booking Tool communities.
